Your Friday is my Monday.
Oh, it’s the weekend? I would never know if it wasn’t for lots of fb friends posting “TGIF” and the like. My work week begins today. Enjoy your days off, as I’ve enjoyed mine—I spent my Wednesday (your Friday) flying to and hanging with one of my best girlfriends in San Diego for a short 24 hours before flying back up to SFO.

Um, why did no one tell me that the whole of the movie took place based on United Airlines flights?! I knew that Catherine Zeta-Jones (the most beautiful actress on earth, in my opinion) was the flight attendant, but come on! Just watched the entire movie as I was randomly flipping through the bad tv on a Saturday night. Not feeling too well (those redeyes are brutal), and I was going to lie down....

I wake up early to speed to the airport. I find you among the crowd and tell you, “Seven-hundred miles is nothing. I will always love you regardless.” We watch the sunrise from the terminal and kiss goodbye when you leave.
But none of that happens. I don’t go to the airport that morning because I’m a pathetic coward, defeated by doubt.

As a visitor.
It’s weird to be flying through my old base, to be passing through instead of terminating a trip. I feel like an intruder. It’s my first time at IAD since I left in mid-March. And walking to the hotel shuttle instead of the employee bus? Weird, especially since they are right next to each other. Part of me is screaming, THIS USED TO BE MY HOME!, but the other, more commanding part...
